TAKE ACTION

Sustainability Seminars

We were very lucky to have Paul Gilding and Ted Trainer join us for the 2009 Sustainability Series.  Both led workshops with Government, Business and Community leaders in the lead up to our Expo.

Paul Gilding

Paul is an established global thought leader in sustainability. An activist and social entrepreneur for 35 years, his personal mission is to lead, inspire and motivate action globally on the transition of society and the economy to sustainability. He pursues this mission around the world with individuals, businesses, NGOs, entrepreneurs, academia and government.

His career has seen him work across both the community NGO sector - including as the International Executive Director of Greenpeace - and the business community, where he is an accomplished entrepreneur having been CEO of two significant environmental companies. He is a sought after speaker and writer and is on the core global faculty of Cambridge University’s Prince of Wales’s Business and Environment Program.

For more information, copies of some of his publications or to contact Paul go to www.paulgilding.com

Ted Trainer

Ted is a respected political analyst and senior lecturer at UNSW. He aims to challenge conventional views on economics, the environment and climate change. He will be presenting his theories of community capacity building using the conserver society model as a practical basis to demonstrate how a state like Tasmania might respond to growing concerns about sustainability and climate change. For more on Ted's ideas visit his website, The Simpler Way.
