2010 Expressions of Interest.
Sustainable Living Tasmania is seeking expressions of interest for workshops for SLE 2010. The workshops will be based around the theme for this year’s expo which is expressed by the words create, innovate, connect, engage, inspire, explore. Workshops are only limited by your imagination...what can you bring to the celebration?

2009 Expo Success!!
The 2009 Expo was a huge success!! 6000 people through the doors and over 100 business, government and community exhibitions. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this unique community event so spectacular!! Be sure to put 6 & 7 November 2010 in your diaries now so that you don't miss next year's Expo!!

Ideas
The Expo is seeking ideas for the 2010 Sustainable Living Expo. The event will be held on 6 & 7 November 2010. The workshops will be based around the theme for this year’s expo which is expressed by the words create, innovate, connect, engage, inspire, explore.
About the Expo
The Sustainable Living Expo is an event that focuses on all areas of sustainable living and is unique in its accessibility and relevance to a mainstream audience in Tasmania. At the 2009 Expo, we had over 100 exhibits, 50 talks and 6000 visitors. This year we are gearing up for an even bigger event. For more information view the Expo's facts and figures page.
What we are looking for
Program items can cover a wide variety of topics including
- sustainable design, building and renovating
- natural art and crafts
- reskilling
- healing circle
- living arts
- home energy conservation
- climate change, renewable energy
- saving water
- organic gardening and food
- smart transport
- technology
- communities in tansition / community action
- waste reduction
- reducing and reusing and salvaging
- sustainable technology demonstrations
- re-skilling
We encourage a variety of presentation formats including
- interactive group discussions
- stage and roving performances
- hands-on demonstrations
- art installations
- exhibits
- interactive workshops
Hands-on workshops or those which actively seek to engage with the community are particularly sought. Workshops are only limited by your imagination, so bring along some big ideas!
The deadline for expressions of interest to be received by our office is August 1st, 2010. Please email these to miriam@sustainablelivingtasmania.org.au .
Expressions of interest should be brief, should outline the workshop, the organisation/group/individual presenting and the time-frame required (eg. a rug-making workshop might progress over the course of the weekend, whereas a make your own bio-fuel workshop might only require an hour or so). We look forward to hearing from you with exciting opportunities to make this year’s EXPO another great success!
