About UsWe are a community-based, non-political, not-for-profit organization, established in 1972 as the Tasmanian Environment Centre. Practical Pathways to Sustainable Communities A community within which government, business, industry, educ ation, community groups and individuals work in partnership to continually improve Tasmania's environmental and social sustainability. Sustainable Living Tasmania is a community resource and education centre working to provide a direct, local, realistic and accessible contribution to the protection and restoration of the natural environment, and the development of homes and cities for a sustainable future
Activities have been developed to support three core objectives:
(1) SLT as Educator – Raising community awareness.
(2) SLT as Facilitator – Acting through partnerships with government, business, industry, education, community groups and individuals
(3) SLT as Catalyst – Supporting the adoption of sustainable practices
